Virgin, Scipio Beaver. Hurricane

scenic southern utah. we headed down south the weekend before memorial day weekend and got to stay with TP in her parents’ beautiful house in hurricane, utah…. SO FUN. we rode with numbers on gooseberry mesa and then smaller numbers with equal amounts fun in guacamole basin….

these trails were super fun. challenging enough to have little spurts of high difficulty interdispersed  with fun mesa-slick-rock riding. the guys did ‘flying monkey’ and i tried my hand at the grafton downhill…. virgin, utah is a trip for biking… the guys had a good time checking out the red-bull venue as well… did a couple of hucks and unfortunately found a landing that broke tide’s collar bone in a few places…. bummer…. however as a whole– this was a great few days in scenic souther utah.

after hurricane, i headed to st. george to visit my old high school friend ali ! it was a treat:

so good to catch up with al…. it’s wonderful when there is no need for a catch up with really good friends. so good to see you, jer, and caleb….. hope to see you sooooon!

Early Mount Olympus

quick adventure hike up Mt Olympus…. rained, hailed, snowed, slid, streamed, muddied, adventured.

Last days of “Spring”

I did some fun spring skiing with Rich and his family up at Snowbird before I headed to Southern Utah and then Missouri. Annie, Tide, and I did a little Salt Lake Buzz gaming, and then I headed to another baseball game two nights later with the rest of Rich’s family:
Then I celebrated my Dad’s Birthday by playing a little golf and then cooking hot-dogs in the backyard!… and then let’s not forget about Annie and Rachael’s AWESTHHHHOME leisure day: (Our socks are pretty kickass)

Breakfast

Annie made from scratch biscuits n venison gravy…… Oooooooooo

Out Warm

It was time for me to hang up my ski stuff, pack only flip flops and swim suits, and head to a warm place… Mexico… round III this time– everything was dialed.

13 days found us (Rich and I) great weather, good times with many different friends, and the biggest swell I’ve (which I don’t have much to compare to so not sure if my credibility is all that sound) ever seen in person. Rich and Chippy were STOKED… I-on the other hand- was terrified. Nevertheless I got out in it the last day and ended up catching one of my best waves yet.

Trip came to an end WAY too soon. It was such a dream to be out there. The water is SO BLUE… the company SO GRAND…. and SO FEW other people around. Ideal and AMAZING.

I’ve only been back a couple of days and I find myself already drifting toward dreaming about my next surf trip. . .
